Higginsons of Grange took part in the ‘World’s biggest coffee morning’ event organised by Macmillan Cancer Support last Friday, 27th September.

2019 is the second year that the award-winning Grange-over-Sands based Butchers & Pie Makers, Higginsons have taken part in the event.

This year the company used their baking knowledge and prowess to raise a whopping £200 for the charity through a cake raffle and donations from sales of their seasonal fruit pies.

Staff member, Laura Nicholson of Kendal baked a stunning Chocolate Fudge ‘showstopper’ cake adorned with chocolate treats and biscuits, which was raffled off on Friday afternoon.

The shop also sold their seasonal fruit pies during the week and donated a percentage of the proceeds to the cause.

Owner, Stuart Higginson said, “Fundraising for charity is something we have always been committed to as a business and as a family. We try and support local charities and causes in the main, but the Macmillan Coffee Morning event was something we felt customers might like to participate in. We were particularly delighted with the sales of the raffle tickets, which generated £180 for the charity”.
