Two fire engines and a rapid response vehicle rescued an elderly man from a twenty five foot deep embankment off the A6, Heversham, Milnthorpe.
Fire crews were called at 2:09pm yesterday, Monday 14 October.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used twin rope access equipment, small tools, spine board and ladders to rescue the casualty.
“The casualty was conveyed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
“Crews were detained approximately twenty minutes.”
