Motorists are being advised that Glebe Road Car Park in Bowness will be closed on Monday and Tuesday next week because of essential work due to be carried out by United Utilities.
When the car park reopens on Wednesday there will be reduced capacity at the 128-space car park until Easter next year.
Work being carried out by United Utilities to upgrade the power supply to the pumping station adjacent to the car park means around half the spaces will be unavailable.
The car park needs to be closed on Monday and Tuesday to enable new directional markings to be painted on the car park surface.
Signage directing traffic to Braithwaite Fold car park will be in place and there are other SLDC-operated car parks nearby at Rayrigg Road, Quarry Mount and Rayrigg Meadow.
