Lakes College are pleased to announce that learners now earn UCAS points while studying National College for Nuclear Level 3 Nuclear Engineering and Science courses on their Lillyhall site.
The courses with UCAS points attached include the Level 3 Certificate, Diploma and Integrated Diploma in Nuclear Engineering and Science, and the Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Applied Science. Equivalent to A Levels, Level 3 courses offer learners the ability to learn practical hands on skills alongside vital theory.
UCAS points are traditionally used as entry requirements by universities, and often only associated with studying A Levels. The nuclear and science courses now sit alongside a range of other Level 3 qualifications at Lakes College which offer UCAS points to those who study them including art, engineering, health and social care, IT, early years, nurse cadets, public services and sport.
Paul Fairclough, Director of Teaching and Learning at the National College for Nuclear, commented, “We’re thrilled that we can now offer our nuclear and science learners the ability to earn UCAS points, which will help them greatly when it comes to applying to university courses and progression. Our courses are a great alternative to A Levels and offer support, advice and guidance to help learners with whatever they decide to do after finishing their course.”
