Changes to Taste Cumbria Christmas 2019 – Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 December

UPDATE FROM THE ORGANISERS AT ALLERDALE BOROUGH COUNCIL

Thanks to an awful weather forecast we’ve been forced to make some changes to this year’s festival – but don’t worry! There will still be loads going on in Cockermouth this weekend!

The big producers’ market will be open on Main Street from 9am on Saturday – loads of stalls selling food, drink, homewares, gifts and more.

The entertainment stage will move to The Cooperage at Jennings Brewery. Come along for festive family storytelling and loads of music – including a FREE concert courtesy of Rosehill on the Road with plenty of Christmassy favourites you can all sing along to.

The children’s crafts, science experiments and dressing up will still take place in The Vicky, behind the red door on High Sand Lane. It’s a great place to hide away from a bit of rain!

We fear we will have to close the producers’ market earlier than planned, at around 3pm, because of the threat of high wind gusts, but we will keep the stalls open as long as we can. Come early and shop until you drop!

We’re planning to move things indoors on Sunday as much as we can. We will keep you posted on what’s going on where.

We do know the entertainment stage will move to The Hub in Market Place – expect lots more carol singing and some more storytelling too.

Put your waterproofs and wellies on and come and join us – a little bad weather never stopped Cumbria from having a great party!
