Over the last 6 months staff at Lakeland have raised enough money to Pay For a Day of Care at Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.

Throughout the summer staff from the Windermere based company have hosted a range of fundraising events to reach their £2,126.46 fundraising total. In late November staff from Lakeland visited the children’s hospice to present the money raised from their fundraising challenge.

The kindness and generosity of the staff at Lakeland helped to raised £2,411.82 to help the care, support and activities provided at the children’s hospice.

Suzanne Allen, People Project Manager at Lakeland, said “Our aim was to raise some money and awareness for Jigsaw after we’d visited a local company, Impact, who were also fundraising. There were guest speakers from Jigsaw who showed us how important fundraisers were to them.

“We thought we’d perhaps raise £200 but one we got going and with fantastic support from everyone at Lakeland we realised that we could possibly raised £2,126.46 to Pay For a Day. I’ve loved being involved in fundraising for Jigsaw, everyone has joined in, not just the Lakeland team but their friends and families and our fabulous customers too.

“We’ve raised funds from big events to small events – bingo to bacon butties, soup days to bake sales, treasure hunts to raffles. Each one adding a bit more money to the Jigsaw pot. We’re really proud of how much we raised and know that this will make a difference to Jigsaw.”

Natalie Bingham Corporate Relationship Co-ordinator at Jigsaw said “We are absolutely blown away by the tremendous amount of money Lakeland have managed to raise in aid of Jigsaw this year. Their original aim was to raise enough money to pay for a day’s care, however they have went above and beyond to smash their target! This is a real credit to the whole team at Lakeland.

“Thank you so much for all of the support you have shown Jigsaw this year, it is hugely appreciated.”
