Police are investigating the theft of a buggy from the United Utilities water treatment works at Williamsgate on the A595.
The burglary happened sometime between 3-4pm on 21st December.
The unknown offenders have driven through the main gates of the site in a Land Rover Defender, registration: GL54 JLU and stolen a green ‘John Deere Gator’ cross over utility buggy, which was driven out of the site.
Both vehicles have travelled down the A595 to the Papcastle roundabout, before heading through Broughton Moor on to the A596 at Flimby, finishing the journey at the waste ground near Workington Docks where the vehicles were later located by officers.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen either of these vehicles between 3-5pm on the 21st December, to contact PC 2796 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 165 of the 21st December.
