The body of a man found on land at Sand Gate Marsh, yesterday afternoon (February 22) has been formally identified as Arthur Wilson, 86, of Cark, Cartmel.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “There are no suspicious circumstances at this stage.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.
“Police would like to thank Bay Search and Rescue, NPAS, Cumbria Fire & Rescue, Coastguard and Mountain Rescue as well as the many local residents who came to volunteer to search for Mr Wilson.
“We also thank the many people who shared the appeal for information on social media.”
