Gosforth Show has confirmed that their 2020 show will no longer take place due to the Coronavirus crisis, with all efforts now being turned to next years event scheduled for 21st August 2021.

The directors of the show said their decision was based around the fact that social distancing at an agricultural show would be near impossible in addition to the current government guidelines and advice for event organisers.

Show directors said in a statement: “It is with great sadness, that due to the current situation with COVID-19, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s, Gosforth Show.

“We have considered all the issues and options but feel this is the right decision for the safety of all, both the committee and public. Social distancing at an agricultural show would be very hard to achieve.

“Preparation will start into next year’s show August 21st 202 and we hope to see you all again. We will be keeping you all up to date with next year’s plan and will release information and news through our usual channels.

“Thank you for all your support and stay safe.”
