Officers are appealing for information following an assault that occurred at around 7pm yesterday (May 26) on Botchergate, Carlisle outside Marios takeaway.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A man in his 30s from Carlisle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
