Officers appealing for witnesses have made a further arrest following an incident that occurred on The Old Railway Line alongside Harris Park, Cockermouth at around 8:30am yesterday (June 3).
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and released on police bail.
A 19-year-old man has been released with no further action.
During the incident a 16-year-old girl had been running in the park and was assaulted by a male. The girl received minor scratches which did not require medical treatment.
A police spokesperson said: “We are not looking for anybody else in relation to this incident and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their valuable assistance.
“We are continuing our appeal for witness who may have been in the park at that time to make contact.”
