Cyclist dies after Walney Island collision

On Thursday 9 July 2020 at around 4pm, police were called to a report of a collision on the Promenade on Walney Island, Barrow.

The incident involved a single cyclist who had collided with a stationery vehicle.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist, 66-year-old Ronnie Warriner from Barrow, was taken to Preston General Hospital but sadly died yesterday (14 July).

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed the collision to contact PC 2448 Weatherstone or Sgt 1962 Vickers on 101 or email [email protected], quoting log 136 of the 9th July 2020.
