Do you have questions for the Commissioner?

Peter McCall

Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall is encouraging local residents to start a conversation with him about their ideas and suggestions for policing in the county at his digital communication engagement days during the summer, starting with local policing priorities in Carlisle and surrounding rural areas on 28th July and 4th August.

During the events, the Commissioner will be highlighting priority areas from local policing teams, hosting community focus group meetings over Skype/Teams and giving locals the opportunity to have their say via email at his on-line surgeries. The Digital Community Engagement Days will rotate their focus around the county and a selection of Peter McCall’s responses will appear on the OPCC website covering a variety of common community themes and ideas being raised.

PCC comments: “Due to the Covid-19 virus, we have adapted the way we engage with members of the public and as a result, have arranged various focus group meetings with a number of community groups across the county to listen to their views (positive or negative) about policing in Cumbria.

“It’s my job to represent your views and I can only do this effectively if you tell me what they are. Social distancing does not mean you can’t have your say about policing in Cumbria. I encourage people to have a voice on-line, keep in touch and let me know what the policing priorities in their area are.

“The digital engagement days and online surgeries are designed to reassure the public that their ideas and suggestions are being listened to, albeit at a social distance.

“I am looking forward to hearing from focus groups around the county and will be highlighting policing priorities in the North of the county over the next few weeks.

I urge people to contact me directly either in advance or during my online surgery for Carlisle and rural areas in the north of the county on 4th August from 11-1pm via email at [email protected]
