Police were called to St Martins Drive, Brampton, at 1.11am yesterday (August 4) following concern for the welfare of a man in the street.
The man, 29, of Lancashire, had suffered an injury to his leg, suspected to have been caused by a sharp implement.
He was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle, treated and discharged.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Two people, a woman, 34, of Brampton and a man, 25, of Carlisle were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
“The woman was released under investigation and the man was bailed pending further inquiries.”
