Carlisle Civic Centre

Carlisle City Council’s Customer Contact Centre will reopen for face to face pre-booked appointments from Monday 17 August.

Based at the Civic Centre, it will initially be on an appointment only basis.

Appointments can be made by calling 01228 817200 or by emailing [email protected]

Safety measures will be put in place for visitors and council staff, this includes social distancing measures and hand sanitising points. When a customer books an appointment, instructions will be issued of how to enter the contact centre safely.

The council will endeavour to resolve queries by either by phone or email before making a face to face appointment to ensure they are keeping customers and staff as safe as possible.

The City Council’s customer services team has continued to take phone and email queries throughout the coronavirus pandemic and have handled over 42,000 calls from home. This will continue when the customer contact centre reopens.

Cllr Elizabeth Mallinson, Portfolio holder for Health and Wellbeing, said: “Our Customer Services team continues to provide an excellent service to our local residents. We’ve had to adapt the service during the pandemic. By using state of the art technology our staff have been able to work from home. We did everything we could to provide vital services and customer contact.

“As lockdown restrictions are easing, we have put in place measures to allow us to provide face to face support from the Civic Centre. The safety of our staff and visitors is paramount, so we ask any visitor to follow the safety advice as they enter the building and during their stay.”
