Construction work has recently started on site at Genesis Homes’ flagship scheme at Rheda Park, near Whitehaven. Properties will be released for sale in the autumn, with two show homes planned for spring 2021.

Beckstones is Genesis Homes’ sixth development and comprises of 55-homes, a mix of 3, 4 and 5-bedroom properties, including 19 no. 2 and 3-bedroom bungalows which equates to over a third of the development. The Penrith-based house builder is well known for building low density schemes and Beckstones proposes less than eight homes per acre, which is almost unheard of in the industry with the majority of new build schemes upwards of 14 homes per acre.

This sought after development will offer views of both the Lakeland Fells and across to the Isle of Man and is set in a lovely, parkland area. Genesis Homes will retain the parkland character, which will be further enhanced by additional planting and hedgerows. The large trees within the site have been retained to offer a large central area of public open space.

Genesis Homes’ Land Director, John Blue commented “We have already witnessed incredible interest in this new development. It is certainly a ‘one off’ scheme that will realise pleasing street scenes incorporating a stylish mix of property types. It is important to note that the development will bring a major boost for the local economy, generating new jobs and supporting the local supply chain, whilst also providing much needed, well-designed, quality housing in an accessible location. We hope to release homes for sale in a couple of months time, but we’d encourage interested people to register their interest via our website to receive priority information”.

This is a desirable area of Cumbria that benefits from excellent transport links, local employment opportunities, access to local services and good performing schools. Lockdown has changed what a number of home-hunters are now looking for from their next home, and while some are looking for more space or a bigger garden, others are now contemplating a move somewhere more coastal. With Beckstones, buyers can have it all.

The scheme will incorporate Genesis Homes’ signature housetypes, providing a wide selection of homes for a range of buyers, all less than two miles from local services. In addition, homes here will feature Genesis Homes’ high specification that is already popular with homebuyers on their other Cumbrian schemes. A Genesis Homes exterior offers character and blends with the local vernacular. Interiors are light and airy, most with kitchen/diners, good sized gardens and space for a home office; spaces that create a comfortable environment in which to live, and, as is now more usual, to work.
