Wellington Farm Glamping – Pod Exterior

A new glamping site on the outskirts of Cockermouth is opening its long-awaited gates.

The Stamper family who run the popular Wellington Farm Café & Tearooms on their farm are due to welcome their first guests into the luxury pods this weekend, however their project has not been without its complications. Initially due to open in April 2020, their diversification project was delayed as the country went into lockdown.

Nevertheless, since lockdown eased in July the project has been on track and has gone to from strength to strength. The glamping site has been an ambition of the Stamper family for many years ‘It feels like a great achievement to be at the stage where we can now welcome guests after years of planning & hard work’ said Leigh Stamper.

There has recently been a boom in staycation demand across the country due to the Pandemic, particularly with a great deal of interest in the Glamping sector which continues to be a growing market.

Wellington Farm Glamping – Interior

The glamping pods were manufactured by another family business and local company Walker Brothers (Timber Frames) Ltd. In 2017 Walker Brothers expanded into manufacturing Glamping Pods which are built to the highest specification using qualified tradesmen and superior materials ensuring quality throughout. They produce a range of pods from single rooms to the family sized pods; like the ones at Wellington Farm.

Each of Wellington Farm’s 6 luxury pods contain electrics, heating, lighting, kitchenette and ensuite bathroom as standard to ensure occupiers enjoy the comforts of luxury glamping. Tracey Walker of Walker Brothers said: “We are proud to have worked closely with Wellington Farm Glamping Breaks to manufacture the Pods to a high specification and wish them all the best with their glamping adventure.”

Wellington Farm have even gone the extra step in luxury glamping and have installed a 7ft hot tub at each pod which allows guests the opportunity to fully appreciate the panoramic views of the Western Fells.

“We’ve been inundated with enquiries since we announced our plans to open – which after months of uncertain times for the country feels very encouraging” said Leigh “we’re incredibly excited to welcome guests to our pods and we hope they love them as much as we do.”
