Police are investigating an assault that occurred on 9 September at approximately 3pm at Netherhall Corner, Maryport.
A 12-year-old girl was assaulted by five teenage boys, believed to be from Netherhall School.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The girl sustained a sore stomach and was left very shaken by the incident.
“The five boys were wearing grey jumpers. Three were described as blond and were seen riding bikes.”
