Man, woman and baby seriously injured in A591 crash

Police were called at around 7:50am this morning (Oct 7) to the report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A591 between Ings and Bannerigg.

The road is currently closed and will remain closed for sometime. Please seek alternative routes.

The collision involved a Peugeot partner 850 and Ford Fiesta.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The driver of the Ford a 32-year-old woman from Kendal has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.

“A passenger in the vehicle a 1-year-old girl has been taken to Alderhay Hospital with serious injuries. Both have been taken to hospital via Helimed.

“The driver of the Peugeot a 36-year-old man from Coniston was taken to Furness General Hospital with serious injuries.”

Anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the road around the time of the collision is asked to contact police on 101, email [email protected], or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 21 of the 7th October 2020.
