St Mary’s Hospice launch ‘so much more than’ campaign

In March 2020 the world as we knew it changed dramatically. No one could have predicted that almost 7 months on we would still be facing restrictions and the uncertainty of what Covid may bring.

However, this time has also showcased some of the best qualities human nature has to give – kindness, empathy and resilience. These strengths are synonymous with St Mary’s Hospice, its services and its staff. Since the beginning of the outbreak of Coronavirus, St Mary’s has led from the front, adapting and responding to ensure that those in our community, who need their care most, are not alone. At a time when demand for free of charge hospice expertise has grown, St Mary’s ability to generate the income needed to fund its services has never been more challenged.

The next 12 months are going to play a crucial role in St Mary’s unwritten history and as a result has launched a new campaign called ‘So much more than’, to help counteract the decline in support from some of the hospice’s major income streams.

Helen Carlson (Head of Fundraising) said: “More than is a powerful campaign that shines a spotlight on the impact our services have on a human level. We represent so much more than a hospice to those we care for and those we may yet care for in time.

“St Mary’s only receives 17% government funding so our ‘More than’ is a campaign that not only shines a spotlight on the amazing services we offer but also on the need. More than offers a way to support that is predictable and sustainable allowing St Mary’s to move forward with a greater degree of certainty amongst these uncertain times.”

If you would like to and importantly if you are able to then please join our campaign and become more than a donor. Help us to continue being there for those who need us most, when they need us most.
