A PENRITH woman accused of dangerous driving on the A6 is set to stand trial in front of a jury next year.
Yvonne Annette Laidlaw, 67, faced one charge when she appeared at Carlisle Crown Court this morning (WED).
This alleges the dangerous driving of a Ford Kuga car on the A6 on 6th October 6 last year.
The charge arises out of a collision on the road just south of Carlisle.
During a short hearing in front of Recorder Katherine Pierpoint, Laidlaw pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
A trial will now take place at the crown court. This is due to start in the week of 1st February and, it is estimated, will last two to three days.
In the meantime Laidlaw, of The Crescent, Penrith, was granted unconditional bail. She was also reminded of the requirement to provide a statement setting out her defence to the allegation by 22nd December.
