A man has been charged after being arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning (Oct 19) after being detained by a property owner.
Police were called by an occupant of a nearby property at around 5:08am having detailed a man.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Michael Torrance, 36, of Norfolk Road, Penrith was charged with burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal and two counts of burglary other than dwelling – theft.
“He is to appear at North and West Magistrates today (Oct 20).”
The charges follow burglaries at three properties in the Maidenhill area of Penrith.
