Workington Christmas Festival has moved online so you can enjoy the festivities safely from the comfort of your own home.

The festival will be available on the Workington Town Council Facebook page on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November.

Saturday’s entertainment starts at 2pm and is jam-packed with festive performances that will get you dancing around your living room. John Hastings will set the scene with some festive poems, followed by music from popular local musicians Stevie D, Jenia, Liam Moorhouse, Jenny Ball and Logan Paul Murphy.

You will also see appearances from princesses, elves, special celebrity guests and Santa himself!

Superstar headliner, and previous X Factor winner, Sam Bailey will have you singing along at the top of your lungs with some of the best festive tunes. The afternoon will finish with the all-important countdown, led by the Mayor of Workington Cllr Janet King, so you’ll get to see the twinkling of Workington’s lights from the best seat in the house – your very own sofa!

Sunday is a day of fun and imagination with fantastic crafty workshops and interactive games. The entertainment begins at 11am with activities from Imagination Parties, Rainbow Jelly, Primary Puppets and South Workington Youth Partnership.

The online event has been organised by Workington Town Council in partnership with CF Events, the masterminds behind the popular ‘Cumbria’s Virtual Festival’.
