Training provider Gen2 has joined forces with the National College for Nuclear to provide courses.

Gen2 has been named as an accredited provider for the college, based at Lillyhall, near Workington.

It will, according to the National College for Nuclear, deliver employer-led qualifications.

As an approved provider, Gen2  will join the college’s collaborative network in the development and of nuclear sector-focused educational standards and curriculum.

The National College for Nuclear, which also has a southern base, is a joint venture with EDF, Sellafield Ltd, Lakes College, Bridgwater and Taunton College, University of Bristol and University of Cumbria.

Steve Naylor, chair and Geoff Rewt, general manager said: “We are thrilled to welcome Gen2 as an approved provider.

“It is an exciting time for nuclear and bringing nationally recognised qualifications to local colleges brings social economic opportunities to local learners.”

Amanda Towers, general manager at Gen2 said “We are delighted to become an approved provider for the National College for Nuclear.

“Gen2 has delivered nuclear training since our inception in 2000, the collaboration between ourselves, the National College for Nuclear, key employers and other providers ensures that the nuclear sector is able to retain and grow the skills needed for the future.”
