Officers are appealing for information after four men were arrested on suspicion of offences including drug and driving offences on the area of the A6, between High Hesket and the Stoneybeck roundabout.
This occurred overnight on Tuesday.
The men, from Yorkshire, were released under investigation.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a Vauxhall Insignia.
They are also encouraging anybody with relevant CCTV and dashcam footage to get in touch.
