Coffee lovers’ delight at Carvetii Coffee

Specialty Cumbrian coffee roaster Carvetii Coffee has opened a new on-site shop at its roastery in Threlkeld near Keswick.

The shop is currently stocked with seven varieties of coffee – all roasted on site – plus an exciting collection of teas and new bespoke range of hot chocolate, created exclusively for Carvetii.

There is also a wide range of brewing kits, equipment, and coffee gift sets back in stock after global shortages of equipment hit the coffee industry earlier this year.

Everything from grinders to filter papers were affected as thousands of people turned to brewing their own coffee at home when coffee shops were forced to close.

“The amount of brewing kits, grinders, and retail bags of coffee we’ve been selling online has been phenomenal,” said Carvetii owner and co-founder, Gareth Kemble, who runs the business with his partner Angharad MacDonald.

“When coffee shops closed, everyone had to start brewing at home and stock has been pretty hard to come by.

“From now on I think we’re going to have a whole new culture of people who can brew amazing coffee at home!”

But it is not all about brewing coffee at home. Carvetii’s Roastery sits in the shadow of Blencathra and the team are all passionate about the outdoors, and not compromising on quality coffee whether halfway up a fell or flying at top speed on a downhill mountain bike trail.

A new selection of gifts aimed at outdoor and adventure lovers include a vacuum insulated camp cup and AeroPress bundle for people to enjoy coffee on the go.

“In the past, we’ve thought nothing of brewing our own coffee at the top of a mountain but nowadays there’s an increasing number of adventurers engaging with us for advice on the best kit to take on their travels,” said Gareth.

“All of our specialty coffees originate at altitude so in our view, there’s no better place to enjoy it!”
