Police are appealing for people to help them track down a wanted man.

Stephen McDowell, 26, of Workington is wanted in connection with the following offences reported to police:

  • 10th October 2020, at a venue on Jane Street, Workington. Threats to kill, racially aggravated provocation of unlawful violence and common assault.
  • 15th September 2020, at a petrol station in Keswick. Causing intentional distress.
  • 13th September 2020. Malicious communications.

Police initially put out an appeal for his whereabouts in November and have sent out this update today to ask people to come forward.

He is believed to be in the area of West Cumbria.

Stephen is described as white, with short dark brown hair, blue eyes, a dark brown thin beard, 5ft 8in and of slim build.

Police are advising the public not to approach McDowell.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 999.

A police statement added: “Assisting a person in evading arrest is a crime. Offenders may be prosecuted.”
