It appears the wildfire which took hold of Cogra Moss and Banna Fell in West Cumbria has been put out.
Firefighters from Workington, Whitehaven, Frizington and the fire service’s specialist wildfire teams from Keswick, Appleby and Windermere spent hours at the site getting the blaze under control.
People were urged to stay away from the area and local residents asked to close their windows and doors due to the smoke being generated.
A father of one of the Frizington firefighters – who helped directed traffic away from the scene while the blaze was ongoing – shot this video yesterday.
