The Environment Agency says it has protected more than 3,500 properties from flooding in Cumbria in the last two days.
The authority says it has prevented 3,539 properties from flooding in the last 48 hours.
They say their teams have been out on the ground monitoring river levels, opening and closing flood defences in Keswick and Cockermouth and they were pumping water on Warwick Road.
About 500 of the total were protected by existing defences, while the other 3,015 were due to the work of Environment Agency teams on the ground in the last 48 hours.
