People in Carlisle are being encouraged to line the streets to pay their respects to an inspirational young boy.
The funeral of Stanley Dalton, 3, of Carlisle, who died in January after a long battle with a rare form of cancer, will take place today.
A fundraising campaign was launched to pay for lifesaving treatment for Stan, who had T-CELL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
It had raised more than £435,000 as of today, with donations coming from almost 14,000 supporters.
This morning Carlisle was lit up blue to pay tribute to Stan’s life.
His family are now asking people to line the streets to pay their respects.
This is the route the family will take this morning:
At 11.45am they will leave the family home and travel on to Blencowe Street, turn left on to Junction Street, right into Shaddongate, they will pass Carlisle Castle, go around Hardwicke Circus and then back to Castle Way, left to Shaddongate and up Dalston Road, left onto Richardson Street and to Carlisle Cemetery Chapel.
The service will be private and the family ask that people do not enter the cemetery or crematorium grounds.
Bows are available from many locations to line the route. The family also ask that only family members leave flowers.
