
A female patient who was airlifted to hospital following a serious collision in Carlisle is in a serious but stable condition.
An air ambulance was called to the collision on West Tower Street shortly before 1pm yesterday.
It involved a van and two pedestrians. The other pedestrian sadly died at the scene.
The road was closed for much of the day while emergency services attended the incident.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokeswoman confirmed the female patient remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
