Corney Fell road crash: Driver airlifted and two passengers suffer serious injuries

A driver has been airlifted to hospital and his passengers have suffered serious injuries after a crash in West Cumbria.

Police were called to Corney Fell road in Bootle at 2.38pm yesterday. Involved in the collision was a Suzuki five-door saloon.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Cleator Moor, was airlifted to the Royal Preston Infirmary. The two passengers, a 27 and a 28-year-old man were taken to the Royal Preston Infirmary and Blackpool Victoria Hospital with serious injuries.

The road was temporarily closed on the A595, near Waberthwaite, but has since fully reopened.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
