Officers are tracing two men who accessed a yard and took two bikes.
The thieves targeted the rear yard in the grounds of Poundland on London Road in Carlisle at 2.45pm on March 10.
It was reported that two men, who were dressed in black, one man had a JD bag with him, had accessed the rear yard and took two bikes.
The bikes are described as a Trek X-Caliber 6 mountain bike which is black with green writing, that had a 21in frame and 19in wheels, with frame number WTU18662564.
The second bike, a Specialised Rockhopper, was black with red writing. The combined value was about £2,000.
The offenders cycled off over St. Nicholas Bridge.
