An-81-year-old has been arrested after a man was assaulted during an ‘altercation’ between two motorists in a Maryport car park.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the car park of B&M at around 11.40am yesterday. A man in his 50s received minor injuries. He did not attend hospital.
As a result, an 81-year-old man from Cockermouth was arrested on suspicion of assault, section 4 public order and possession of a bladed article, possession of a section 5 firearm and administering a noxious substance to cause harm or annoyance.
He has since been released under investigation.
