Staff at a financial planning firm have been going round and round in circles to raise money for Comic Relief.
Four staff from Financial Management Bureau completed 315 laps of its offices in Kendal last Friday (March 12) raising more than £1,000 for the cause.
Client services assistants Ali Brown and Will Wilson and relationship managers Phoebe Makey and Paddy Billington walked laps of the building continuously between 9am and 5pm, covering a total distance of about 22 miles.
Money raised for Comic Relief will go towards charities in the UK and beyond which support the world’s most disadvantaged people. The charity’s annual fundraising event, Red Nose Day, is today.
FMB managing director Liz Beavis said: “As a business, we believe it’s important to play a part in the community, whether that’s locally or further afield.
“Comic Relief is probably the best well-known charity event in the UK and it’s important to show our support, especially at a time when the global pandemic is making life so tough for so many people.
“It was also a great morale boost for the team, who are so overwhelmed by people’s kindness, even though they are now suffering from slightly sore legs and a little bit of dizziness.”
