A man from Carlisle has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a road collision on the A66 on Wednesday.
The two-vehicle incident occurred near the Sportsman Arms at around 6pm and involved a silver VW Golf and a quad bike.
The 22-year-old from Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He has been released under investigation.
A man in his 20s was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with injuries not believed to be life threatening. He is in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicles or location from around the time of the incident.
