A £250,000 scheme to replace worn out sections of the A595 in South Cumbria will begin next month.
Cumbria County Council has announced work will start on the road near Broughton-in Furness between High Cross and Duddon Bridge on May 10.
It is expected it will take six nights to complete, subject to suitable weather conditions and work will take place overnight during off-peak hours.
The section will be closed from 7pm from May 10 to May 15 and reopened by 5am the following morning each day.
Diversions will be in place and road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.
