A popular ITV2 dating show filmed near Carlisle will be back for a second series, it has been confirmed.
The first series of The Cabins was filmed at Hidden River Cabins in Longtown.
When it was launched in January this year, it was billed as the winter’s Love Island.
Singletons looking for love move into an intimate cabin with another person.
After 24 hours, contestants then have to decide if they like the other person enough to spend longer in the cabin with them, in hope of starting a romance.
But if there is no spark, the contestants can ditch their potential love interest and leave the cabin.
Season one saw one pair, Charlotte and Sarah, stay for four days and leave the show as the first official cabin couple.
ITV has said in a statement that the show last year had 43 per cent of people between the age 16 and 34 watching the show, which made it the most watched show for that demographic, across digital channels.
Paul Mortimer, ITV head of digital channels and acquisitions, said “The Cabins proved to be a great success amongst our target young audience, and we’re hoping cupid’s arrow can find its way back to the lodge when we debut our second series on ITV2 and ITV Hub in 2022.”
