An event organiser from Carlisle – who raised more than £18,500 for the NHS during lockdown has handed the cash.
Ian Milburn, who runs IM events, hosted a series of online singing, dancing and bingo events to keep people entertained during lockdown.
People signed up to take part in the events, with many local businesses donating prizes.
Ian donned a range of costumes and wigs and teamed up with his wife Steph to bring the virtual, fun, events to computer screens across the city.
In total, he raised £18,539 for the North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) NHS Foundation Trust.
“We had fantastic feedback from all the events we hosted,” said Ian.
“We didn’t expect everyone to get so much enjoyment from a fat lad in his kitchen singing terribly.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported us and all the businesses who kindly donated prizes.”
Chief nurse at NCIC NHS trust Anna Stabler said: “Thank you to Ian and his team for all the fundraising that they have done. Ian and his team have done an amazing job to raise so much cash.
“We are very grateful for his support and thank him for choosing and supporting NCIC’s Charitable Fund.”
Other charities to benefit from Ian’s fundraising include Eden Valley Hospice, Carlisle Youth Zone and Carlisle Eden Mind.
