An Egremont Town Team has been created to develop a vision for the future of the town. The aim of the group – set up by Cumbria County Council’s Copeland Area Support Team – is to:
- Attract new businesses to our town centre.
- Increase and retain our working-age population.
- Raise the standard of the physical environment in our town.
- Increase the number of people living in and around Egremont.
- Deliver new jobs and opportunities for economic and social participation.
- Increase the number of visitors who spend time and money in Egremont.
The aim is to build local pride and confidence in the town and reignite the economy following the coronavirus pandemic.
The team is keen to hear what makes residents proud about Egremont, how they feel about the area and how they might like it to develop in the future.
By hosting two ‘virtual’ workshops and an online survey, they are seeking your insight, thoughts and knowledge to help shape a vision for the town.
A virtual morning workshop for residents, organisations and businesses representing the Egremont community will be held on at 6pm on May 18 and 9am on May 19.

You can also respond to an online survey to give feedback, which is available here.
The closing date for the survey is May 21.
