Firefighters are urging people to help keep Cumbria safe after it revealed it had attended 23 deliberate fires in the last week.
A post on Cumbria Fire and Rescue’s Facebook page said: ” When someone starts a fire deliberately, they are not only putting firefighters’ lives at risk, but also people within their local community.
“These fires can easily spread and even a slight change in wind direction can pose a serious risk to life, property, and the environment.”
The post added that anyone aware of any issues should call police on 101 or if a fire is in progress, call 999.
