Ulverston

Residents in Ulverston are being asked to have their say on the future vision for the town.

Cumbria County Council has brought together local partners to create an Ulverston Town Team, to support the development of a ‘Place Plan.’

They will be working with local community stakeholders across the town, to develop a vision for Ulverston.

This will help to:

  • Attract new businesses to our town and town centre.
  • Increase and retain our working-age population.
  • Raise the standard of the physical environment in our town and town centre.
  • Deliver new jobs and opportunities for economic and social participation.
  • Increase the number of visitors who spend time and money in our town.

Cumbria County Council said they hope the vision will build local pride and confidence in the town, and to help further develop Ulverston as the economy recovers from the coronavirus pandemic.

The authority wants to hear what makes you proud about Ulverston, how you feel about the area and how you might like it to develop in the future.

It will be hosting two ‘virtual’ workshops and an online survey to seeking your insight, thoughts and knowledge to help shape a powerful vision for Ulverston.

We will be hosting ‘virtual’ morning and evening workshops with residents, organisations and businesses from the Ulverston community, using the Zoom platform on:

Wednesday May 19, 6pm

Thursday May 20, 9am

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

If you would like to get involved, register for the session and joining instructions with further information will follow ahead of the session.

You can also respond to the online survey here.

The closing date for responses is May 21.
