Four men and a woman have been arrested after a 32-year-old was found with serious injuries in the street.
Officers were called at 3.25pm yesterday to Sandes Avenue in Kendal after the man was found with serious injuries close to Sports Direct.
He was taken by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Four men aged 33, 33, 34 and 38 and one woman aged 53 have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
