Passengers at Carlisle bus station can now use a newly designed and revamped bus shelter.

Work at Lonsdale Street has been underway since last month to completely replace the shelter.

Rob Jones, managing director of Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, said: “We are delighted with the completed works which will give passengers a much better experience.

“The new design has much more room for passengers as they get on and off the bus and also improved lighting.

“We’d like to thank people for their patience over the last few weeks as the work has been taking place.”

Although timetables remained the same during the work, passengers were dropped off and picked up from different locations on some services.

However, drop off and pick up points are now back to normal for all routes.
