A Carlisle man has been sentenced after he sexually assaulted a woman in a Carlisle bar.
Andrew Duncan Blythe, 53, was sentenced at Carlisle’s magistrates’ court today for the offence on August 30 last year.
He admitted the charge of sexually assaulting a woman over 16 at a hearing last month.
The court was shown a video lasting about 20 minutes of the incident in a bar in Carlisle.
Blyth, of Rydal Street in Carlisle, was seen on CCTV images cuddling the woman, touching her breasts and kissing her, in a prololonged incident.
Prosecutor George Shelley told the magistrates the victim was vulnerable as she was visibly intoxicated.
While the video was being played Blyth sat in the court dock with his head bowed.
The sexual touching was over the females clothing, the court was told.
Mr Tweddle admitted that his client was also affected by alcohol and was previously of good character, he lives alone with his elderly dog, and feels remorse for this incident, completely out of character.
Blyth was given a community order for 18 months, with 160 hours of unpaid work, and 25 hours of rehabilitation activity organised by the Probation Service.
He was also placed on the sexual offences register for five years.
He has to pay £250 in compensation to the victim, which he was told was for the psychological harm he caused.
