Celebrity chef Simon Rogan’s two Cumbrian restaurants have been ranked among Europe’s best in the Opinionated About Dining 2021 awards.

The revered global restaurant ranking system has released its picks of the Top 100+ Restaurants in Asia and Europe for 2021.

Rogan’s flagship restaurant L’Enclume, based in Grange-over-Sands, was ranked at number 42 in The 2021 Europe Top 100+ list, and his relaxed neighbourhood restaurant Rogan & Co, also in Grange-over-Sands, featured as a highly recommended dining experience in the Europe Casual Top 100+ list.

Since its inception in 2007, OAD has focused on restaurants that blend modern methods with progressive ideas and good-food fundamentals, showcasing restaurants that deliver truly great contemporary dining experiences.

OAD shares lists of the top restaurants within various global regions each year, as voted for by the website’s knowledgeable pool of 6,000+ reviewers who each year submit more than 200,000 reviews.

The lists are the only global restaurant guides that considers a diner’s gastronomic background and restaurant reviewing experience, as well as the quality of restaurants they visit, when tabulating the results.

The 2021 Europe Top 100+ list was revealed on June 15 by live stream, highlighting the very best of the best of the continent’s gastronomy.

The 2021 Asia Top 100+ list was revealed on June 7, with Simon Rogan’s Hong Kong based restaurant Roganic, which opened its doors in 2019, at Number 90, closely followed by Aulis, Simon’s chef’s table third in the highly recommended list.

‘’The entire team is over the moon that two of our Cumbrian restaurants feature in this year’s Europe lists and our two Hong Kong restaurants feature in the Asia lists,” said Simon Rogan.

“This news is a big pat on the back for the team and has given us all a real boost, especially after such a difficult year for hospitality.’’
