Football pundit Gary Lineker has been in the Lake District this week – with his friends.

The former England footballer, known for being a wit on social media, has tweeted two pictures of himself – at the Forest Side in Grasmere and on a cruise on Windermere.

Both are by himself and he has tweeted that he is “with all his mates”.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona striker is enjoying a brief break from his broadcasting duties between the group stages of Euro 2020 and the last 16.

England will take on Germany for a place in the quarter final of the competition on Tuesday.

The first two matches of the last 16 will take place tomorrow, with Denmark facing Wales and Italy locking horns with Austria.
