
Glasson got their season up and running with a 40-28 victory over Kells A last night.
The Maryport side had lost their opening game in the Holman Iggesund Cumberland ARL to Seaton in another high-scoring game.
Glasson enjoyed an eight-point advantage at the break, leading 24-16 and that had increased to 12 by the final whistle.
The Glasson tries came from Joe Kirkup (2), Gary Tierney, Luke Jackson, Shane Williams, Matthew Burns and Keenan Winter. These were increased by six goals from Winter.
After trailing 12-0, Kells had actually fought back to lead 14-12 after 25 minutes with tries from Dan Starkie, Ryan Starkie and Dylan Hurton
But from that point until the hour mark Glasson scored three converted tries to take a grip of the game.
Harry Watson scored a try to help cut the gap but then Glasson went in for two further tries to seal the points.
Richard Marr scored the final try of the game for Kells on 76 minutes. Dan Starkie landed four conversions for the visitors.
