An Arnside woman has run 10k every day for charity, inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore, and in memory of her stepdad.
Emma Cross decided to run 10k a day for 100 days as part of the #CaptainTom100 challenge.
She began on April 10 and is due to finish her challenge on July 18.
Emma works for the Teenage Cancer Trust and is raising money for the charity to help it deliver vital services to young people.
She is aiming to raise what could fund 100 hours of care from a Teenage Cancer Trust youth support co-ordinator, to help young people with cancer cope with anxiety and isolation.
Emma said: “I’m so proud to have taken on this challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, a cause that has been so very close to my heart for the past eight years.
“It has been physically and mentally exhausting to keep the running up every day, as well as managing my job and a busy family life – but so very worth it.
“I have been blessed with incredible support from both family, friends and colleagues. Teenage Cancer Trust nurses and youth support co-ordinators are, in a word, superheroes.
“They go over and above every day to provide individual specialist care and support.
“It’s a privilege to hear from families and young people the impact of their incredible work on a daily basis.”
Emma is running in memory of her stepdad Bill, who died this year.
