Milk deliveries delayed to allow staff to watch Euro 2020 final

Milk deliveries from a major dairy in Cumbria will be late so its staff can watch the Euro 2020 final.

McQueens Dairies Ltd, which normally guarantees delivery before 7am, said it had rearranged the deliveries because its staff at the depot at the Willowholme Industrial Estate in Carlisle would have normally begun their rounds shortly after the end of the final.

Now they will be able to join other England supporters enjoying the country’s biggest game since the World Cup Final in 1966.

Mick McQueen, chairman of McQueens Dairies, said: “We recognised that many of our milk delivery staff would be keen to watch this historic game along with every other England supporter, and fans of all other nations too.

“In recognition of that we have reorganised the deliveries scheduled for early Monday morning and our thanks must go to our customers who have accommodated this change at very short notice, and who will hopefully also be enjoying the final too.”
